Norah Jones is an exceptional singer-songwriter perhaps best known for her own songs. Here she covers a Randy Newman song as part of a Katrina benefit.

I love this version with very honest exposed vocal with just the gospel-tinged piano. The song sounds like it was written just for Jones.

As with all Newman songs, it does have its little quirks. That little bridge is so special: "Lonely, lonely...tin can at my feet, I think I'll kick it down the street, that's the way to treat a friend..."
