Following on yesterday's theme of songs with piano and voice, here is another song by Randy Newman.

After a day of recording with some of the world's greatest studio musicians at United Recording in Hollywood, producers Mike Lang and David Paich turned down the lights and recorded a song with just Patrice Jégou singing and Mike Lang on piano. No headphones, no isolation, and no rehearsal. This was the first take, live. The duo did one more take, and then recorded the third, which is on Jégou's new album, IF IT AIN'T LOVE. The stunning version on the record has a beautiful orchestra arranged and conducted by Grammy winner Nan Schwartz. Produced by pianist Mike Lang and David Paich. Engineered by Don Murray.
