Here's a bit of a rare one from 1984. The song came from a film that was titled, "Night Of The Comet." The plot of this movie you ask? "A comet wipes out most of life on Earth, leaving two Valley Girls fighting against cannibal zombies and a sinister group of scientists." It labeled itself as having "Airplane-Naked Gun" type humor with a taste of sci-fi and horror. The film was produced on a $700,000 budget and it actually grossed $14.4 million at the theatres. It was also the very first mainstream film to carry the MPAA PG-13 branding. Now here is where it gets interesting as the soundtrack was released by Beverly Hills Records. The song "Learn to Love Again", a love duet performed by Amy Holland (Mrs. McDonald) and Chris Farren (Gregg Allman, Jack Mack, Michael McDonald) was played in the final scene in the film and in the closing credits.

The soundtrack featured 10 cuts but more than a few tunes were left off. I'm not sure if it was a licensing issue or the producers just didn't think that this track was strong enough? Obviously, they were wrong if that was the case because this is classic 80s Caldwell and a very distinct sound of the times when just about everyone were using Simmons drums, a Linn drum machine, or a Roland synth.

Enjoy the flashback as I was very pleased to find this.
