For this week's picks, I'm going to focus on songs that feature Jeff Porcaro.

It’s difficult to comprehend what was happening in the music scene in 1973. There was so much going on with musical creativity, poetic and well-crafted lyrics, and young, gifted, musicians who were driving the music scene in ways that still captivate our imaginations to this day.

Such was the case with a young, 18 year-old drummer named Jeff Porcaro, who laid down the groove on this Seals and Crofts classic, “Diamond Girl”, the title track from the duo’s 1973 album release that reached #4 on the Billboard album chart and the song itself reaching #6 on the Hot 100 chart.
