Inside MusiCast 'Pick Of The Day': “A Place Across Town” by Kenny Pore. Selected by Mikael Engström

For me, this has been such a long-awaited album. I have been following the music from Kenny Pore for 20+ years now. I have enjoyed and loved every album I have been fortunate enough to hear and I think I have found them all. These albums has always been filled with beautiful, delicate and soothing music. Kenny has a very special approach in his his writing. He creates a very special and intimate musical atmosphere that makes you feel good, laidback and relaxed while listening to his music. “A Place Across Town” makes no exception to this rule. It also marks the first album release from Kenny Pore after a 21-year long hiatus. As always, Kenny delivers an album filled with a great collection of instrumentals accompanied by some of the best “session cats” out there for hire
On this album he´s has gathered some old friends such as Russell Ferrante, Pat Coil, Vinnie Colaiuta, Ruslan Sirota, Mark Douthit, Alan Pasqua, Bob Reynolds, Michael Thompson, Paul Jackson Jr. Bob Shepard, Peter Erskine, Alex Acuna, John Patitucci, Luis Conte. Jimmy Johnson, Jimmy Haslip, Will Kennedy, Scott Williamson, Brandon Fields and Dominic Amato. With the help of these guys you are in for a listening treat. The album is mixed by Mick Guzauski, Rich Breen and David Rideau and mastered by none less than Bob Ludwig. I can honestly say the sound is amazing
