Inside MusiCast 'Pick Of The Day': "Figure In A Landscape", by John Waite. Selected by Kim Reilly

"Figure In A Landscape" was released in 2001 and is a wonderful collection of material that John has written with long time collaborators like Anthony Krizan, Shayne Fontayne, Chuck Kentis and Will Jennings. From up-front rockers to heartfelt ballads, this enticing album has many moods and is one of John's strongest releases. Stand-out tracks include the album opener "Keys To Your Heart", an upbeat song in the Americana vein, "New Thing" for its Spanish sounding acoustic guitar and "My Special One" for its Ry Cooder like slide work. John Waite had his first hit as the lead singer of The Baby's with "Isn't It Time" and has been reinventing himself with increasing success and a trail of radio friendly hit records ever since.

John Waite's Vocal is one of most distinctive ones out there, and a personal favorite for me!
